OUR STORY

Magnetic Innovation to Boost Metal Recoveries

Ausmetec is an established Australian based business with a global presence in minerals processing that provides innovative minerals processing solutions.

Ausmetec was founded in 2001 by Dr. Barry Lumsden while completing his PhD at The University of Newcastle, Australia. Mentored by Prof. Jameson, Dr. Lumsden's PhD thoroughly researched the effects of magnetic aggregation on fine paramagnetic losses in flotation. During his PhD studies, many successful plant scale test work established the now patented ProFlote technology  (US Patent 7429331) .

Dr. Lumsden  takes a personal interest in each client's needs to tailor mineral processing solutions to their requirements. With an emphasis on R&D each year, Ausmetec is focused on continually improving the ProFlote technology which is ultimately shared with new and existing clients. Similarly, Dr. Lumsden has a keen interest to develop his growing team to make sure there is professionalism across the company. It is with this culture that Ausmetec has forged strong relationships with clients where ProFlote™ is being embraced at mine sites all around the world.

With Ausmetec's head office in Sydney, the team is also passionate about maximizing Australian manufacturing and fabrication. For each ProFlote™ built, the company sources components from local (Australian) companies and is engineered and assembled in our facility in Cromer, NSW, and is European CE certified. Ausmetec is strongly committed to support local businesses succeed in a competitive environment

Ausmetec is constantly pursuing excellence and guarantee that each ProFlote™ is rigorously tested before dispatch. The company also ensures that Ausmetec personnel are on mine sites to supervise the safe and correct installation of ProFlote™ and its servicing. Remote, continuous monitoring of the ProFlote™ equipment via the 3G network allows the team back in Australia to view ProFlote™ performance 24/7. Every project from its engineering stage through to fabrication, assembly and operation provides confidence to clients that Ausmetec can deliver a quality, custom made solution.
